IFMA is more than a professional organization with a platform of standards and education in the field of facility management. It is also an advocate for the profession in numerous ways, and one way is the work the IFMA Foundation performs in informing students and young career-seekers about the opportunities afforded in FM. Taking on the role of chief cheerleader for the profession, the foundation has been responsible for the establishment of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree FM programs in various universities and colleges here and abroad, and providing scholarships for students in these programs. Taking that further, it partners with organizations and initiatives that inform young career-focused individuals of the many challenging and well-paid opportunities within FM, highlighting the creativity of the profession, the wide-ranging responsibilities, the fact that one can work in any industry, choose any country, and find work that is different every day!
We are thrilled to welcome Jeff Tafel, the executive director of the IFMA Foundation, who will provide an overview of this exciting arm of the International Facility Management Association. Jeff is an engaging and enthusiastic presenter—if you know students or young people who are still deciding what direction they might take, or you know of schools looking for professional career-day content, or if you are considering a career shift yourself, you don’t want to miss this informative and eye-opening Lunch & Learn that will have you looking at the profession with a fresh perspective!
